So, I'm just wondering...if there was a flatscreen hanging on the wall in my bedroom, would my husband be willing to spend more time there? Would he suddenly stop feeling the need to get as far away from our bed as possible the instant he wakes up?

I doubt it. I'm pretty sure it's me he wants to get away from.

The man doesn't understand me on any level, it seems. Maybe I should clarify things.
